RITRATTI D'ARCHIVIO
Ritratti d’Archivio is a collaborative project between Camilla Glorioso and SANGUEBLU born by the desire to generate new links between young talents interested in fashion and the shop’s unique archive pieces.
With an ever-growing community
of students and young people interested in the fashion and creative industries, it is key to create a network to connect the various actors operating in these fields in Venice. Starting from an open call, eight participants were invited to view the archive and select some items of choice, styling total looks or pieces of their design, to then pose in front of Camilla’s camera for a portrait session.
The goal from a photographic perspective was not only to highlight the garments but to give a glimpse of the rich and creative young crowd Venice has to offer.
Through the sitters’ point of view and inspirations, the portraits capture a rich variety of moods and influences, traveling through costume and theatre, homosexual and genders critique, hooligans looks, pop culture, skin diseases, and monastic robes.
In the long run, we hope Ritratti d’Archivio will serve as a pilot of what could become a series, fostering moments of play and experimentation connected to image-making and fashion, inviting students and professionals to take over different roles in the creative team and enrich their network and portfolios.
